As part of the Mardi Gras Ball, there are two exciting Auctions with dozens of fabulous items to be bid for.
One will be a Live Auction during the Ball itself, conducted by Adrian Biddell from Sotheby's, following the Dinner.
There is also a 'silent' Online Auction, bidding for which began on January 24th, to be concluded during the Ball itself, at 11pm on Saturday February 9th 2013.
The items in the Live Auction are listed below. If you would like to place a bid beforehand (whether or not you are coming to the Ball), please email parishoffice@smaaa.org.uk or speak to one of the Ball helpers.
Lot 1. A ‘money can’t buy it’ film party for 54 at Paramount Pictures
A private screening for up to 54 people in Paramount Pictures Chiswick Park Theatre of a Paramount Picture of their choice including pre-releases. Available weekday nights with a 6.00pm start. Donated by Paramount Pictures International.
Lot 2. A week skiing or walking in Champagny
A pretty wooden chalet which sleeps up to eight people in a small hamlet just below Champagny en Vanoise. A week in April for skiing, or May/June or September/October for walking. Donated by Sarah Radcliffe.
Lot 3. Immortalise your home
Renowned local architect and artist Nigel Woolner will paint a watercolour picture of your west London home – or will travel beyond the M25 for modest travel expenses. The finished picture will be approx. 12" x 9” supplied unframed, and he will organise mounting and framing at cost. Donated by Nigel Woolner.
Lot 4. A week in Salcombe for up to ten people
A week’s stay in this large five-bedroom house with every amenity, resting in the woodlands above North Sands, just 5 minutes walk from the beach, and walking distance of central Salcombe. Offered for Easter holidays (weeks April 6th or 13th 2013) or for October half-term week. Donated by James and Debbie Stott.
Lot 5. A week in Italy for up to eight people
Casa Torino is a carefully restored and well-equipped farmhouse in the heart of Italy's Le Marche region. It has four double/twin bedrooms, three bath/shower rooms, a large garden and a 15-metre swimming pool. It is 1 and half hours from Ancona airport. Dates flexible. Donated by Michael Pownall.
Lot 6. Dinner party for ten guests
Margaret and Sue will agree a menu with you and then shop, cook, serve and clear up a dinner party in your own home. All you have to do is invite your friends and supply the drinks. Donated by Margaret Bailey and Sue Ouseley.
A delightfully appointed beamed cottage between Assisi and Ancona with fabulous mountain views towards the Sybilline National Park. An excellent base for exploring La Marche & central Italy. Just over an hour’s drive from Ancona Airport and close to a charming hilltop town. Dates flexible. Donated by Gavin Graham
Lot 8. A day’s flyfishing for two on the River Wylye in Wiltshire
A day’s trout fishing for two rods on one of the country’s finest chalk streams, rising from stream near Longleat. After a wonderful day’s fishing, enjoy a cream tea for two on the terrace. (Available from 15th April to 15th October 2013). Donated by Robina Thompson.
Lot 9. A portrait at your home by photographer Kelvin Murray
Kelvin is an international award-winning photographer who specialises in turning the everyday into the unusual. His portrait of Oliver Simkin (a previous prize) was selected by the National Portrait Gallery in its annual portrait competition. Kelvin will include and A2 and A4 print of the final image. Donated by Kelvin Murray.
Lot 10. A week in the south of France for up to seven people
A week's summer holiday in a beautiful three-bedroom villa with pool, overlooking the Mediterranean, about 45 minutes' drive from St Tropez. The villa is on a hillside, with stunning views, and the village with shops, restaurant and bar is a short walk away. Dates flexible in 2013 or 2014, Donated by Philip and Helen Wareham.
