Patronal Festival – Procession & Choral Mass

On Sunday September 28th at St Michael & All Angels Church it’s our Patronal Festival, starting on Acton Green.  At 10am there’s a Procession and Choral Mass, livestreamed on our Facebook  page, with the Choir of St Michael & All Angels. Plus Skirmish at the end of the service, driving the dragon out of the church. All welcome. Children are invited to come dressed as an angel or soldier (St Michael) – costumes available to borrow.

Celebrant and Preacher: The Rt Revd Christopher Lowson, honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of London. Our All Souls Chapel refurbishment has been completed with new cupboards, an aumbry for the holy oils, a cross and an icon of the Transfiguration. They will be blessed in the service.

Mass setting: Missa Brevis in G, K 140 – W. A. Mozart 1756-91 – Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei; Acclamation – Factum est silentium – Nils Greenhow; Bogoroditse Devo (from the Vespers) – S. Rachmaninov 1873-1943.

Hymns (in service booklet): Stars from Heaven tumbled; Sons of the Holy One; Hark, Hark, my soul! Angelic songs are swelling;
Readings: Revelation 12.7-12; John 1.47-51. Young St Michael’s groups – Youth and Children’s Church and the Creche – will meet. After the service there will be refreshments
