Our service begins with processions through a candle-lit church representing the journey of faith, from darkness to light, and then tells the story of the birth of Christ, culminating in the prologue to St John’s Gospel where Jesus is described as ‘the true light’, which enlightens everyone.
This year’s carols include It came upon a midnight clear, Once in royal David’s city, What child is this, God rest you merry, gentlemen, The first Nowell and Hark the herald Angels sing.
A collection will be taken after the Eighth lesson, during The first Nowell, in aid of three charities: The Upper Room, Crosslight Chiswick and UNICEF. Click here to read a message from Fr Kevin Morris and donate.
