Biography
John Silverton was born in Long Island New York State in 1955. Educated in England he studied at Trinity College of Music before moving to Lincoln Cathedral as Organ Scholar. He gained his B.Mus at Sheffield University specialising in Organ performance and composition.
Past teachers include Harry Gabb, Christopher Robinson, Philip Marshall and Simon Lindley.
He is currently in charge of the music of St Bartholomew’s Church, Maltby, near Rotherham
