Advent Sunday: Choral Mass

Sunday November 30th is Advent Sunday, the start of the church’s year. At 10am at St Michael & All Angels there’s a Choral
Mass, livestreamed on our Facebook page. Mass setting: Mass in the Phrygian mode – C Wood; Anthem: The truth sent from above – R Vaughan Williams;
Preacher: The Vicar, Fr Kevin Morris.
Readings: Isaiah 2: 1-5; Matthew 24: 37-44.
Hymns: 9 Lo he comes; 7 Hills of the north rejoice; 18 Ye servants of the Lord. All welcome.
At the end of the service, our Advent Calendar will be blessed and the first door opened. For over 20 years, it has acted as the focus for our Christmas Charity Appeal, ‘opening doors for people in need’. This year the 24 artworks have been created by local artists and will be auctioned in aid of the appeal. See Advent and Christmas at St Michael’s.

At 6.30pm it’s our Advent Carol Service, led by the Vicar, Fr Kevin Morris. A candlelit service to contemplate the coming of the Christ Child with scripture, poetry and music. All welcome.
