CBF Chiswick Artists Night
Celebrate Chiswick’s artistic heritage and the launch of the online Timeline of Chiswick Artists & Illustrators. All welcome – from 6pm in the Tabard pub, a gathering place for artists and architects for 145 years, with its William de Morgan and Walter Crane tiles. Buy a painter a pint (or a Pinot)!
Chiswick’s artists have created some of the country’s greatest works, from William Hogarth & Johann Zoffany to Camille Pissarro & Sir Peter Blake.
The Chiswick Book Festival’s Timeline of Chiswick Artists & Illustrators sets out to list all published or exhibited artists who have lived in Chiswick W4, or painted pictures of the area. Supported by: Abundance London, whose Chiswick Timeline: A History in Art & Maps mural features 23 views of Chiswick by distinguished artists; Artists at Home whose studios event was founded by Julian Trevelyan & Mary Fedden, showcasing over 80 local artists; the Bedford Park Summer Exhibition; and The Arts Society Chiswick with its Outside Art Trail.
