From 12.30pm to 1.15 on the first Friday of every month, we present Friday Lunchtime Organ Music.

Biography

William Brooke is the Senior Organ Scholar at St Mary the Virgin, Ewell in Surrey and has accompanied the choir on their visits to Margam Abbey, Guildford, Llandaff, Chichester and Wells Cathedrals. William is in his final year studying for a BMus in Music at the University of Surrey where he has twice been awarded a Performance Scholarship from the Humphrey Richardson Taylor Charitable Trust. He is receiving organ lessons from Asher Oliver, sub-organist of Guildford Cathedral and this year achieved an LRSM in Organ performance. William is also a Bass Choral Scholar at St Mary the Virgin, Ewell and sings and manages the University of Surrey Chamber Choir.

William has a long association with St Michael & All Angels, having been baptised and confirmed here. His photo appeared in the Pipe Up! leaflet raising funds to build the organ in 2011 (right).
He sang with the choir from the age of 7 and his first organ lessons were taken with Jonathan Dods.
He returns at Christmas and Easter to accompany and sing with the choir.
A Bombade pipe, note C was dedicated to William when the organ was installed in 2013.
