Biography

Federico Terzi (b 1994) works as an organist at the Basilica Notre-Dame in Geneva and as graduate assistant of musicology at the University of Lausanne.

He studied organ at the Como Conservatoire (Bachelor’s degree with E. Viccardi). He then went on to deepening his knowledge of the Baroque organ repertoire with L. Ghielmi at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan later obtaining a «Master d’orgue» at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva in the organ class of A. Corti. He attended masterclasses by L. Lohmann, G. Parodi, S.-V. Cauchefer-Choplin and others. He also holds a master’s degree in modern philology achieved with distinction at the Catholic University of Milan. Currently, he is working on a PhD dissertation about the organ and piano music of Vincenzo Petrali (1830-1889).

His activity as an organist led him to play in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, and England while his musicological works have been published in Italy, Switzerland and United States.

He was organ scholar of the Anglican church of Geneva (Holy Trinity Church) between 2018 and 2020. He has been organist at Basilica Notre-Dame since 2019.

His recordings include music by J. Bramhs (complete works for organ), J. S. Bach and J. G. Walther.
