The man
who gave his name to Bedford Park built Melbourne House, Bedford
House and Sydney House. He died in 1805. With maps, pictures and
census details, Dr DW Budworth traces the 200-year legacy of John

Yeats wrote many moving love poems in Woodstock Road. G.K. Chesterton
and George Bernard Shaw both fell in love with Bedford Park residents.

Residence: The Pissarro Family in Chiswick |
An illustrated
lecture by Professor Simon Shorvon. Camille Pissarro was the father
of French impressionism. His son Lucien and granddaughter Orovida
were influential figures in British art, who lived and painted in
Stamford Brook and Bedford Park, where Camille visited them. With
slides of their paintings, drawings and printing work in Chiswick,
and personal photos and letters. |
