Our
traditional village Green Days Fête has attractions for
all the family with Dodgems, Fairground Rides and a Bandstand
- focus for live music and many events.
Children
can take part in or watch two Junior 5-a-Side Football Tournaments
(under-13s on Saturday, under-10s on Sunday), sponsored by Bushells,
the Fancy Dress Parade and Pop Idol (sponsored by SweatyBetty
in the Terrace) you can find out how to enter from the
Parish Office or www.bedfordparkfestival.org . Also watch out
for the 'Roald Dahl' Treasure Hunt in Turnham Green Terrace windows. You could win a trip for your family to the new Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden, Bucks.
Activities include Skittles and
a Coconut Shy( sponsored by Andrew
Nunn & Associates) Bouncy Castle and Children's Corner
(sponsored by Happy
Times Nursery and JoJo Maman Bebe and, for the less active, a
Champagne Lottery (sponsored by solicitors Howard
Russell & Co, 020 8995 1600). The Craft Marquee (sponsored by Faron Sutaria and White Stuff) has a wide selection of interesting crafts including works to
buy or commission. Other stalls sell plants, cakes, toys, books
etc.
Tickets will be on sale for the
Win-a-Meal Contest (supported by local restaurants and chiswickw4.com), the Festival
Quiz and the Tombola (including prizes donated by Blackwood & Cowell Antiques, Glints at Chiswick Park station, Polomo in Chiswick Common Road Riverside Health Club and Urban Chic Interiors at Bedford Corner) .
There's a Beer Tent, sponsored
by Fletchers,
serving Fullers
and Pimm's; a Refreshment Tent serving lunches, strawberries and
cream teas (supported
by Andreas Georghiou);
and a Barbecue, with burgers and hot dogs (supported by Mackens,
020 8994 2646) Plus Bacon Butties, Rotisserie Chicken, Oriental
Food and International Food sponsored by Whisk cooking emporium of Devonshire Road.
Look out for the St Michael & All Angels stand, where you
can get information, meet the clergy; find out more about its
charity of the year, the Brain Tumour Research Campaign; and buy
Fair Trade goods, Festival T-shirts and other merchandise.
Independent
Audio (020 8384 4433) will again be operating the sound
system at the fête.
