ST MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS WW1 PROJECT<\/h1>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

St Michael & All Angels Church lies at the heart of Bedford Park in Chiswick, a residential area developed between 1875 and 1886 and acclaimed as the world\u2019s first \u201cgarden suburb\u201d. The Church\u2019s website is here<\/a>.<\/p>

The church was 38 years old when the first world war started. In and around the church there are memorials with the names of 128 men and women<\/a> that died in the war and were somehow connected to the church and\/or the local area. Little was known of who these people were or how they lived, served or died.<\/p>

The research into who these individuals<\/a> are and their stories took over four years. As a result, we have learned a lot about how the individuals and the local community were affected by the human cost of the war.\u00a0<\/p>
