St Michael and All Angels Church, Bedford Park

ASK: Ask Seek Knock

A place to bring your questions and talk about some answers

When? Thursday evenings, 7.30-9.30, starting September 3rd 2015

Where? St Michael and All Angels Church.

What? A meal, a talk, a discussion - and a safe place for ideas, doubts and questions of all kinds.

Any Questions?
ASK.

‘If I were to meet God, what would he think of what you do in this church every day?’

‘Should we be referring to God as He?’

‘Do you believe what’s in the Bible?’

'Is regret any need for religion?'

'Why does God allow disasters to happen?'

There is no end to the questions people have about life, feeling, meaning. Anyone who has stayed up late after a dinner party knows that.

ASK is a course for people with questions.

We’ll eat together, experience a bit of what Christians do when they meet, hear a talk, and then discuss the issues it raises. You are welcome no matter what your perspective.

This is not a scheme for converting people. Nor are we there to quiz the vicar. It’s a chance for a real conversation about some serious matters. This is what thinking people do with their friends and colleagues all the time - talking about our lives, and explaining what guides our choices.

It might be the issues that everyone faces: what is forgiveness? What is the point of my life? How do we explain suffering?

Or maybe something specific to this faith: does worship make any sense? How can someone be God and Man at once? Why is the church obsessed with sex?

Remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question, or an easy answer.  The unexplained life is not worth living.
