St Michael's Christmas Appeal - opening doors for people in need

I hope you enjoy our 2008 online Advent Calendar. The works have been created by 24 children from St Michael’s Children’s Church and I think you’ll agree that they’ve done a wonderful job. As well as acting as a focus for our worship in the run-up to Christmas, the pictures are used to publicise our annual Christmas Appeal. This year, the Appeal proceeds will go in their entirety to:

• The LAMB health project in Bangladesh
• Hounslow Action for Youth
• The Upper Room, feeding the community in need in West London.

The pictures are also displayed in the church on a beautiful Advent Calendar frame, created by local artists Jim Cox and Glynis Porter. Every day until Christmas Eve, another door will be opened. You will also be able to see the pictures in the windows of Turnham Green Terrace.

We think this is a wonderful way to celebrate the season and to focus attention on this year's Appeal. This church plays a central part in community life here in Chiswick, and the Appeal builds on our tradition of outreach and mission within our community.
